  • The Democratic Party is part of the problem, not part of the solution. Voting for the Democrats and their so-called "blue wave" is not voting to stop the great crimes the Trump/Pence regime is carrying out. It's a vote to continue these crimes, accommodate to fascism, and legitimize the whole putrid system that carries out monstrous crime after monstrous crime, and gives rise to fascists like Trump and Pence.
  • The "blue wave" isn't the answer. It's a poisonous polluted wave of slime and sh*t that will only leave people drenched in disappointment, accommodation, and complicity.

What is happening is the sort of moral enormity that once seemed unthinkable in contemporary America, the kind captured in the Martin Niemöller poem that’s repeated so often it’s become a cliché: “First they came …” There is no reason to believe that undocumented immigrants will be the last group of people deemed beyond the law’s protection.

http://evergreenedigest.org/sites/default/files/Raised%20Fist%20with%20Peace%20Sign%20Background%20copy.jpgJune 13, 2018 | For several years now, I have been writing regular posts on my blog with one end in mind: to help open a door for readers and encourage them to step through. I select issues, usually those that dominate western media coverage and represent a consensus that we might term the Great Western Narrative, and try to show how this narrative has been constructed not to inform and enlighten but to conceal and deceive.

It is not that I and the many other bloggers doing this are cleverer than everyone else. We have simply had a chance – an earlier one – to step through that door ourselves, because of a jarring life experience that the Great Western Narrative could not explain, or because someone held the door open for us, or more usually because of a combination of the two.
