Dori Ullman, Michael Calvan for US Senate
Submitted by Evergreene Digest Contributing editor Lydia Howell
The Committee to Elect Michael Cavlan is proud to announce that the campaign just submitted 2,394 signatures to the Minnesota Secretary of State, thereby qualifying Michael Cavlan to be on the ballot as a candidate for U.S. Senate in the 2012 election in Minnesota. (U.S. Senate candidates who are independent from the two major parties in the current political system are required by state law to collect 2,000 signatures in a fourteen day period in order to get on the ballot.)
Candidate Cavlan stated, "Now at last nurses have a voice, ordinary people have a voice in this race. Not just the super-rich who usually purchase their Senators. Our opponent Amy Klobuchar has collected over $4.5 million to date but that is actually her greatest weakness."
The voting record of DFL Senator Amy Klobuchar consequently reflects the wishes of her big money contributors, the 1%, big corporations, the military-industrial complex and other moneyed special interests.
The Michael Cavlan for US Senate 2012 campaign extends a most sincere thank you to those noble people who helped gather signatures and to those citizens who responded "Yes" when asked if they supported the right of third party candidates to be on the ballot. Cavlan states "It was due to the herculean efforts of our team that this miracle happened. Full and total credit goes to these heroes, standing up and working for the rights of the people of
Minnesota afforded a real choice in this election.
Michael Cavlan is a fifteen year veteran of nursing in Minnesota.
Michael Cavlan will be running against current US Senator Amy Klobuchar in the 2012 elections. The people of Minnesota have been afforded the right to have a choice, a real choice.
The marketplace of ideas has been expanded. This is critical to creating the framework for a healthy democratic republic.
